With a $25,000 grant from the Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus the West Coast Walk for Life was attended by approximately 50,000 marchers. The west Coast Walk for Life is held in San Francisco, CA each year on a Saturday close to the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision of Roe vs. Wade. What a magnificent support for this great Culture of Life event. Despite the high winds, chilly temperatures and the threat of rain, there was a great turn out. Numerous Knights were in attendance some wearing council jackets, some wearing council badges. I know more Knights were there, because you said hello to me. Unfortunately the public did not know you were there, because you were not wearing your council badge. This was a great opportunity to show our strong support for the Culture of life.
Knights were joined by marchers from throughout California and elsewhere to march from the San Francisco Civic Center, down Market Street to the Embarcadero. We proudly filled the street for the 1.7 mile march. Many spectators were seen waving and cheering from windows of office buildings and apartment buildings. The front line was occupied by youths led by Tammerie Millington. Many Priest, Sisters and seminarians participated also in this event.
Joe Gomez from Fr. Patrick J Scanian Council 9986 from Perris attended with thirty nine other knights and family members who rented a bus for the trip to attend this wonderful event. Joe stated they were there to be a witness to life. It was the right thing to do.

State Deputy Charles Clark and wife Sandi joined the walk.
