The State Council has signed a 3-year contract for an exciting social media and communication app for councils, chapters, and assemblies.  It’s called Connectu and is downloaded to a smartphone (iPhone and Android) and tablet (iPad and Android) Yoursphere (the software developer) is currently developing the app for a few councils that have signed up.

The standard template for the Connectu app includes the following information:

  1. Our council
  2. Knight events (includes council meetings, events and degree schedule)
  3. State Council
  4. Supreme Council
  5. Insurance
  6. Chapter
  7. Council newsletter
  8. Facebook (if no Facebook page, app will say: no content found)
  9. YouTube (Supreme’s YouTube channel)
  10. Parish
  11. Diocese
  12. Knights Gear

Having an app increases the ability to communicate more effectively with Knights – through your app you can send text messages directly to every Knight’s phone eliminating worry as to whether everyone read your email.

Increase visibility, attendance and participation at Knight fundraising events through the app – at the touch of a button, Knights can share with friends, families and co-workers invitations, sign-up and news about fundraising events.

Calendars, events, degree schedules are all easily accessible through the app – eliminating the need for Knights to have to call, search the web or look through emails to find important dates.

Having an app is a great recruitment tool – today’s younger generation spend hours on their phones. Having an app will help the Knights connect with a younger generation while also providing visibility to recruits with much needed information about the councils.

Use the app to collect dues and sell tickets to events  – online payment services for dues or events can be included in the app and can eliminate the need to send out paper invoices and sell paper tickets.

Eliminate the requirement that each and every Knight needs to be called directly, or has to have a computer or to be communicated with – in some circumstances Knights don’t use or have access to computers or email, or they need to be called to share news. Having an app will decrease the need for countless phone calls and the requirement to have a computer to be kept up to date.
