Dear Members and Supporters of the Emilio B. Moure Museum,

I hope this email finds you well as we begin the second month of a new Columbian year. On behalf of the Emilio B. Moure Museum Association, I am writing to share some exciting updates regarding our ongoing mission to preserve the rich history of the California State Council and honor the memory of Former Supreme Secretary and PSD Emilio B. Moure.

Since our incorporation in 2007, we have proudly featured historical exhibits at every annual state convention, installed a full-size statue of Blessed Michael McGivney at our State Office, and established our memorial blocks. Today, our focus remains on education, artifact care, and key improvements to the State Chapel and museum. Recent milestones include placing an “El Camino Real” mission bell to mark the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi and consecrating the Blessed Michael McGivney chapel to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. These initiatives commemorate both the 250th anniversary of the United States and Pope Leo XIV’s Jubilee year. Additionally, we are in the process of placing a beautiful colored glass window in the chapel dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Our community engagement also remains vibrant. We have hosted confirmation students for Mass and Adoration, and we continue to offer tours of our chapel and museum. The museum is open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and special visits can also be arranged by appointment. Furthermore, we continue to facilitate Charity, Unity, and Fraternity (CUF) exemplifications, and offer monthly masses and prayers for the sick. We are also privileged to house a relic of Blessed Michael McGivney and look forward to the upcoming acquisition of a relic of Saint Maximilian Kolbe. We will continue to coordinate the veneration of these sacred relics at local churches, hospitals, and schools throughout the state. I also want to recognize the visionary leaders who have shaped our association. We honor the memory of former board members PSD Jim Scroggin, long-time curator John Shea, and Marilyn Willour. We also extend our gratitude to our past board presidents—former State Secretary Patrick Brown, PSD Jim Scroggin, Past Orange County Chapter President Daniel Lucas, and me—as well as our dedicated former curators, Marilyn Willour, Lisa Scroggin, and John Shea, who faithfully served our museum for 17 years.

Looking ahead, we are currently undertaking the monumental task of compiling historical information from the past 25 years. To assist with this effort, a link of fillable PDF form is now available for downloading on this page. (See below.) Once downloaded and saved to your computer. Open it in Adobe Acrobat to complete. Please be sure to read the instructions first. (For legibility, please do not print and handwrite your information.) Note that you can save the file at any time and resume at a later date. We plan to publish the first two volumes digitally on our website, followed by the third volume upon completion, ensuring this legacy is preserved for future generations. Please note that we will only print a limited number of hard copies; therefore, any physical copies must be pre-ordered. More detailed information on the pre-order process will be forthcoming once we have initially printed a few sample copies.

Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this year-long celebration leading from the date of January 19, 1902, when Council 615 was instituted in San Francisco, to May 25, 1903, when we were established as a state council. Let this be our greatest year yet as we honor the memory of those who came before us.
